MEDIA FOR CHANGE (BREAKOUT! EPISODE #25)

FEATURE:Regent Park Community once had a reputation for drugs and gang violence. Tired of this image the community decided to take control of their media and started a program which teaches media skills and music production to youth.  Now they have their own station called RPTV.

SPEAKOUT:Sol Guy is a music and television producer.  He uses the media to share the work of activists around the globe.

FACTS:Why should you be media savvy?

BREAKOUTER:Schools without Borders organizes international exchanges for youth in Toronto to share ideas about art and photography with their counterparts in Brazil and Kenya.
